March 28, 1941 ~ February 18, 2023

Shannon left the world peacefully at 6:20 a.m. on February 18. It was shocking because she never did anything that early in the morning. While it was entirely her desire to leave this world (she had recently announced she was “done having fun”), we will miss her terribly.

Shannon made friends everywhere she went and was a part of many communities throughout her life: including Judge Memorial Catholic High School in Salt Lake City, Portland State University, the Peace Corps where she served in Peru, her 50 years in the ski industry (first as a ski bum in Aspen, then as buyer for multiple ski stores and later as a rep and member of WWSRA) and The Seattle Trade Center. Also, her 45 years on Queen Anne Hill, where she made friends at the pool and playing bridge as well as the Seattle Art Museum, where she volunteered.

She is survived by her children Meaghan (Tom) Elwood and Erin (Jason) Hagens; her grandchildren Parker and Ryan Gross and Caroline and Grace Hagens; her siblings Pat (Florence) King, Kathleen McPolin, Calleen (Francois) Letaconnoux, Tim King and Terry (Elaine) King; and her beloved Brennan cousins Kathleen (Sister Thelma), Jenifer (Mike) Gibbons, Mary (Pat) Clark, Lawrence (Denise)Brennan and Tricia (Mark) Cohrs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Davies; her mother Geraldine King; her brother, the Honorable Garr Michael King; and her cousin James Kearney Brennan.

A celebration of her life will take place from noon to 2 p.m. on June 10 at the Washington Athletic Club, 1325 6th Avenue, Seattle, Washington.
