Several Saturdays ago we had a most productive social justice workshop at Saint Vincent de Paul Church. There were several presenters, including yours truly, who talked about the social justice teaching of the Catholic Church. Those in attendance discussed why the Church is involved in social justice matters and what some of the salient teachings are. I am grateful to Mrs. Jean Hill, director of the diocesan Peace and Justice Commission, for organizing such a splendid day. We concluded with a Mass at the parish, praying that our world will grow ever more just as we seek peace for all human beings.
