I very much enjoyed a visit to St. George Parish two weekends ago. I had the privilege of celebrating the Sunday Masses as well as the daily Mass on Monday and Tuesday. Father Martin Picos, the pastor, and Father Tai Nguyen, the parochial vicar, are working hard with their wonderful parishioners in their newly remodeled church. I am grateful to Father Gustavo Vidal, the former pastor, and the parishioners who worked so hard on the church and I commend Fathers Picos and Nguyen for building on their fine work.
We also had an opportunity to celebrate with Father Nguyen, who was recently made a citizen of the United States of America. Congratulations, Father! We are proud of you and we know that our country is the better for you joining the ranks of our citizenry.
P.S. I also was able to get in some golf on my day off in St. George. Dr. Dominic Albo won the game but his wonderful wife, Ginnie, was pulling for me – I think!
