Bishop of Salt Lake City

I would like to thank Monsignor Terrence Fitzgerald for celebrating Mass at St. Joseph Villa several weeks ago to mark the end of an era for the Villa. As you know by now, the Villa has been sold to the Ensign Group. While we are sad to see that the Villa will no longer be owned by a Catholic entity, we are very heartened by the wonderful people at Ensign. Matt Church is the new administrator of the Villa and our meetings with him so far give evidence that the Villa is in very good hands indeed. The people at Ensign seem to be very dedicated to the well-being of the residents at the Villa and they would like to see religious services continue since they are such a vital part of the lives of those who live at the Villa. For my part, I welcome the Ensign Group into our community and I wish them well as they strive to maintain the very best facility possible for the sake of their dear residents.

I would also like to thank once again Sister Margaret, Sister Ignatia and Sister Michele, all Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. Their ministry here in our local Church was marked by love, compassion and deep care. All three of them will be greatly missed and we wish them well as they return to their motherhouse. Please keep them in your prayers as I know you join me in wishing them many more years of good health and happiness. I hope they come back often to visit us since this will always be their home.
