Teresa Louise Vega-Hale
August 24, 1967 ~ April, 26, 202
Our dearest Teresa passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2022.
Teresa was born August 24, 1967, to Jimmy and Evelyn Vega in Salt Lake City. Teresa graduated from West High School in 1985 and attended the University of Utah to further her education. Teresa started her career in the medical insurance business and most recently was employed with Cotiviti as a finance accountant II.
Teresa married James Hale at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Salt Lake City in 2009 and resided in West Valley City. Among the many things that she and James enjoyed doing together were trying new restaurants and traveling to music festivals. Teresa also enjoyed traveling and family vacations to national parks. Her love of the fall season and the colors of fall showed from her wedding to her home décor, to even her 2021 Christmas tree.
Teresa loved to scrapbook with her mom, recording all their adventures together. But above all she loved playing poker at family get-togethers.
Teresa served her vocation as cantor at St. Patrick Catholic Church for many years and will be remembered for singing at various friend and family services and special occasions. Teresa directed and sang with the Spanish choir at St. Pat’s but was especially proud to have sung with the Oratorio Society of Utah for over 20 years.
Teresa is preceded in death by her dad Jimmy, brother-in-law David and sister-in-law Elisa.
Teresa is survived by her husband James, her mother Evelyn, her sisters Ann, Susan, Catherine and her brother Paul. Teresa was a loving Auntie to Beth, Joseph, Marcos, Victor, Lucia and Lilianna.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on May 7 at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Teresa’s life was so much more than these brief words and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends that loved her.
Eternal rest grant upon Teresa, O Lord, and may Your Perpetual Light shine upon her. Amen
