SALT LAKE CITY — Tony Gomez Jr., 89, passed away Jan. 17, 2013. Gomez was born May 20, 1923 in La Junta, Colo. to Antonio and Modesta Gomez. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, having served in the Navy. Gomez is survived by daughters Gerry Fratangelo, Vicky Vicencio-Burke, Lisa Marie Beltran; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Phil Ochoa and sister Marie Ramirez. Gomez was preceded in death by his wife Cora, parents and seven brothers and sisters. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church.
