Utah Catholic students pray during the National School Walk Out Photo 1 of 7
Students in grades four through eight stand on the Judge Memorial Catholic High School athletic field for 17 minutes of silence in memory of the victims of the recent Florida school shooting.

On Feb. 14, a shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., killed 17 and wounded 17 others. A month later, on March 14, members of school communities throughout the United States participated in a National School Walkout. Many of these events began at 10 a.m. and included the number 17 in some fashion, in recognition of those who were killed. Most Utah Catholic Schools joined the National School Walkout by praying or otherwise commemorating the dead. Here are a selection of photos from the day. Our Lady Of Lourdes School, St. Marguerite School, Judge Memorial Catholic High School, The Madeleine Choir School, J.E. Cosgriff Memorial Catholic School and Saint Francis Xavier School were among the Utah Catholic Schools that participated with prayers, chantics, and sharing thoughts during the National School Walk Out.
