Utah's Carmelites, Dominicans Offer Best Wishes Photo 1 of 2

The Dominican friars of Saint Catherine of Siena Community, Salt Lake City heartily and warmly thank Archbishop Wester for his devoted service to this local Church and especially to us. He certainly lived out the words of our brother, Father Henri Lacordaire, O.P., in a powerful way: “To be a member of every family, yet belonging to none; to share all sufferings; to penetrate all secrets, to heal all wounds; to daily go from men to God to offer Him their homage and petitions; to return from God to men to bring them His pardon and hope; to have a heart of fire for charity and a heart of bronze for chastity.”
We wish him many, many blessings in his new ministry!

Even with his multitude of responsibilities, Archbishop Wester has always shown appreciation for the contemplative presence in the Diocese of Salt Lake City.
We are grateful for his kindness and support, and we are pleased that an important part of our Carmelite apostolate is always prayer for our diocesan bishops and priests.
We are very happy to be able to say that the Carmelite monastery of nuns in Santa Fe will be joyfully continuing this mandate of our order for their new archbishop.
