SALT LAKE CITY — Verna D. Jones, 93, died April 5, 2013. Jones was born April 8, 1919 in Sunset, La. She was born to Zennon and Nita Dugas. She was a registered nurse and a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Jones is survived by children Steve and Nita and three grandchildren. Jones was preceded in death by her husband Dick and four siblings. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
