OGDEN — “For Everything ... There is a Season – A Retreat for a Woman’s Soul” will mark the fourth year in a row of a women’s retreat in northern Utah.
The retreat’s theme is based on Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.”
This year the retreat will have five presenters: Dominican Father Carl Schlichte, pastor of Saint Catherine of Siena Newman Center, will speak on the topic “This is the Season of Promise;” Ryan Ingle, a musician from Saint  Thomas More Parish, will discuss “Walking With God Through Every Season;” Jeanne Lachowski, a St. Catherine of Siena parishioner, will offer “A Time to Heal and a Time to Forgive;” and Maria Devereux, a Saint Mary parishioner, will talk about “For Hope There is a Reason.”
Amy Kennedy, past president of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, will be the moderator.
“Fr. Carl is our worship leader. He has been involved with this women’s retreat from the beginning. This year is bittersweet, since we have learned that he will be leaving Utah for sunny California to lead another ministry,” said Devereux, who organizes the event.
Ingle, who spoke at last year’s retreat, “is an amazing musician and makes his message come to life. He is vibrant, passionate and fun,” said Devereux.
Lachowski, who is co-chairperson of the event, has organized many retreats throughout Utah. She is a speaker, a doer, and an adventurer/missionary, Devereux said.
Kennedy “is bright and refreshing, and is tasked with the difficult job of keeping the retreat moving forward. She is involved with many women’s faith events throughout the state; we are so pleased to have her on board again this year,” said Devereux. “Women will experience engaging discussion, talented presenters, reflection and prayer … all intertwined with music and activities.”
The retreat also will provide a time to listen and share experiences, a time to laugh and spend time with friends, “a time to open our hearts and energize our spirits, and a time to find how God is close to us throughout the many different seasons of our lives,” Devereux added.
