Youth Contemplate Christ's Passion

Youth from Saint Patrick Parish, Salt Lake City gathered for a prayer walk on Sunday, April 7. The youth attended Mass together at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. After Mass, they began their prayer walk carrying a wooden cross to Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The group of 11 youth and six adults walked in procession while singing Lenten hymns. They stopped every couple of blocks to pray and reflect briefly on each of the Scriptural Stations of the Cross. It was a beautiful opportunity of evangelization. As the youth walked, sang and prayed, people stopped to watch and remained quiet as the youth walked through the neighborhood. Each youth had a chance to help carry the cross in small groups.  The walk ended at the altar of Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, where they concluded with prayer. They walk was an effort of the youth program to help the youth contemplate Christ’s Passion and their own Lenten journey.
