Youth Ministry Retreat

I would like to offer a special word of thanks to our youth who gathered at the Bishop’s residence last Saturday with Mr. Matt Boerke and Mr. Michael Ramirez for a daylong retreat in which they prepared for their roles as leaders of youth activities throughout the year.  As you might expect, the enthusiasm and energy level was quite high.  I arrived in the mid-afternoon for Mass but I could tell that the high school students were still ready for more and their positive participation in the Eucharist was proof positive.  I am impressed that these students are willing to share of themselves in order to help their peers draw closer to Christ.  We are blessed to have Mr. Boerke and Mr. Ramirez as youth and young adult ministers in this diocese and I commend them for their fine work.
