Margaret Mary Hinojos, 90, passed away at her home in Ogden, on July 13, 2017. She was born in Longmont, Colo. On Oct. 19, 1926 to Espicio Lucero and Justa Quintana. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Joe Gutierrez. She grew up in Longmont, Colo., where she received her elementary education and attended Sacred Heart High School. She married Henry M. Fisher and to this union they were blessed with five children. They later divorced. She married Juan Hinojos and to this union joined his six children.

Margaret spent most of her life serving and doing what she loved as a homemaker. She also worked in the hospitality services at St. Benedict’s Hospital. She was raised as a member of the Catholic faith and also studied with Jehovah’s Witnesses. She loved to go camping, having parties, and loved children and babies, especially her own. She enjoyed traveling and was an exceptional cook. Many knew her by her canned green chili. She loved everyone and enjoyed having her house full of family and friends for socials and get-togethers.

She is survived by her husband, Juan; children Marilyn Joyce Maestas, Judy Ann Fisher, Charles Ralph Fisher (Debbie) and Mary Elizabeth Furlan; step-children Ezequiel Hinojos (Theresa Flores), Marta Hinojos, Guillermo Hinojos, Joel Hinojos, Carlos Hinojos and Alicia Hinojos; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Bernice Vigil.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Pauline and grandson John Maurice Maestas.

The family would like to thank Comfort Worx Hospice and their staff Alex and Zac, especially Miguel with In Home Care Assistance for the care given to Margaret.
