Ambrose Motta

SALT LAKE CITY — Ambrose “Breeze” Motta, passed away Nov. 13, 2014.  

Motta was born in Murray, Aug. 20, 1926, to Steve and Veronica Rocca Motta. He served in the U.S. Army Counterintelligence Corps and was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany from 1945 to 1947. He married Georgia Uzelac on Dec. 2, 1952 in Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He operated Motta Bros. Produce, along with brother Dominick. He was an active member of Saint Vincent de Paul Parish in Murray, and later Saint Rose of Lima Parish in Layton. 

Motta is survived by wife Georgia, sons Jeff (Vicki) Motta and Dave (Kris) Motta, daughter Cheryl (Michael) Morris, seven grandchildren, three great-grandsons, brother Dominick Motta, sister Elma Uzelac and sisters-in-law Ellen Falvo and Kay Fassio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers- in-law Nick Uzelac, Louis Uzelac, Joe Uzelac, Chester Fassio, sisters-in-law Mary Lou Motta, Ruth Uzelac, Maurine Uzelac and Barbara Uzelac.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
