Pastoral Center Closed — The Diocese of Salt Lake City Pastoral Center will be closed Monday, Sept. 5, for Labor Day. It will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 8:30 a.m.

Bishop’s Dinner — Thursday, Sept. 8, with a social hour starting at 6 p.m. at the Grand America Hotel, 555 S. Main St., SLC. Benefits the Cathedral of the Madeleine. Parish Dinner and Games — Friday, Sept. 9, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 West 5215 South, Kearns. Dinner $20; includes 18 games. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., dinner at 5:30 and games start at 6:30.

Empty Bowls — Friday, Sept. 9, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at FFKR Architects, 730 Pacific Ave., SLC. No registration or ticket purchase necessary. Handmade bowls will be available for purchase starting at $20. Event benefits Catholic Community Services’ St. Vincent de Paul Dining Hall.

Give Me a Chance Fundraiser — the annual “Enchantment in the Garden” will be Saturday, Sept. 10, at Give Me A Chance, 2913 Grant Ave., Ogden. Gates open at 5 p.m.; fashion show at 6 p.m.; dinner and live auction at 6:30 p.m. Over 21 only; RSVP to Sr. Martha at 801-627-2235.

Fall Festival — Saturday Sept. 10, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 100 W. Center St., Heber. Food, live music, a 50/50 raffle, craft sale, book sale, free kids’ games, face painting, beer garden featuring Heber Valley Brewery and a silent auction.

Fr. Vidal Anniversary Celebration — Saturday, Sept. 10, 6:30 p.m. in St. George Parish’s Kuzy Hall, 259 West 200 North, St. George. Dinner to celebrate Fr. Gustavo Vidal’s 25th anniversary of priesthood. Tickets: $50; available after all Masses up to the weekend of Sept. 3.

Memorial Service for Victims of Abortion — Saturday, Sept. 10, 11 a.m. at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 275 U St., SLC. Part of the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children, there will be prayers, a rosary and remarks by Fr. Erik Richtsteig.

Book Signing — Shannon Spencer, a parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Center in Hurricane, will sign her book Embrace the Unknown: Poetic Thought and Prayers at the Cathedral of the Madeleine on Saturday, Sept. 10 after the 5 p.m. Mass and on Sunday, Sept. 11 after the 8:30 and 11 a.m. Masses. Copies of the book will be available for sale at the cathedral’s gift store.

Parish Game Night — Saturday, Sept. 10, at 6:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish’s social hall, 1100 East 700 South, SLC. Games, drinks and snacks.

Fr. Vidal Anniversary Celebration — Sunday, Sept. 11, reception in St. George Parish’s Kuzy Hall, 259 West 200 North, St. George following the 11 a.m. Mass in English and the 1 p.m. Mass in Spanish.

Level II Training — for those who minister Eucharist to the sick and shut-in. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 6-9 p.m. at the Chancery Building, 303 E. South Temple, SLC. Diocesan Pastoral Congress 2022 — Saturday, Sept. 17 at individual parishes and missions. Admission is free and all are welcome.
