Perpetual Adoration Chapel — 24 hours each day at Saint Joseph Parish, 506 24th St., Ogden. Time can be spent with Our Lord in silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament each day. All are welcome! Cursillistas invited to a meeting — Sunday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. at Saint Olaf Parish in the rectory meeting room, 276 East 1700 South, Bountiful. Parking is available in Saint Olaf School Parking lot at 1800 S. Orchard Drive, Bountiful. A small group of Cursillistas in the Diocese of Salt Lake City is working to reestablish the local Cursillo, which has been inactive for some years. If you have made your Cursillo, come and support this group.

Holy Land pilgrimage — Saint Rose of Lima Parish in Layton is planning a 10-day pilgrimage to the Holy Land Nov. 7, 2011. There will be a planning meeting Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. at the parish, 210 S. Chapel St., Layton. The cost for the trip is $3,395 including the round trip flight, most meals, Bethlehem, four days in Jerusalem, and more. St. Jude Maronite Catholic Church two-day celebration — In honor of this Jubilee Year of 1600 years of St. Maron, a two-day celebration is planned for parishioners, friends and neighbors of St. Jude Maronite Catholic Church. On Wednesday, Feb. 9, Vespers, at 6 p.m. Our guest celebrant is Father Abdalla Zaidan from our co-Cathedral, Our Lady of Mt. Lebanon in Los Angeles, Calif. He will share a message about the Synod he attended in Rome with Bishop Robert Shaheen this past year. Following the evening prayer, all are invited to a reception in the Parish Hall. RSVP at 801-268-2820 by Feb. 5 so food can be ordered. The celebration for St. Maron will be on Sunday, Feb. 13. Divine Liturgy will be at 10:30 a.m. followed by a family style dinner. All are invited to bring a covered dish, and share in this luncheon.

 

St. Olaf Council of Women’s Simple Afternoon — Saturday, Jan. 29 in the McNamara Center from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $10. This is the council’s annual fundraiser and the theme is "Simply Paring Down with Friends." Come enjoy friendship, appetizers, 50/50, a cookie walk, gift basket and quilt raffle. National Catholic Youth Choir callCatholic students entering 10th through 12th grade in the fall of 2011 are encouraged to come to the NCYC camp June 14-28, 2011 at Saint John’s Abbey and University in Collegeville, Minn. The cost is $900, and scholarships are available by applying online at www.CatholicYouthChoir.org. Applications are due before March 7.
