Shower Them with Love — Bank of Utah is hosting its third annual Shower Them with Love donation drive now through July 17; Catholic Community Services of Northern Utah’s St. Martha’s Baby Project is one of the recipients. Take donations to any Bank of Utah location. Items most requested include new newborn-sized clothing, sleepers and onesies, newborn diapers, bibs and burp cloths, formula, baby lotion, powder and wipes. 

Saint Thomas More Game Night — Friday, July 17, 6:45 p.m. at Saint Thomas More Parish’s Meyer Hall, 3015 E. Creek Road, Sandy. Cost is $14 per person, which includes dinner and games.  Must be 18 years or older to attend.

Knight of Comedy — Saturday, July 18, 7 p.m. at Saint Therese of the Child Jesus Parish, 624 West 7870 South, Midvale. All State Catholic Day at Lagoon — Sunday, July 19 at Lagoon Park, 375 Lagoon Dr., Farmington. Gates open at 11 a.m. For the discount rate of $39.94/per person, mention Catholic Day at the ticket window.

Feast of St. Mary Magdalene — The Cathedral of the Madeleine will celebrate the Feast of St. Mary Magdalene, patroness of the Diocese of Salt Lake City, on Wednesday, July 22, with a Mass at 6 p.m. with the Cathedral Choir, followed by the annual parish dinner in the Cathedral plaza, 309 E. South Temple, SLC.

Closed — The Pastoral Center will be closed Friday, July 24, in observance of Pioneer Day.

Encyclical Talk — Wednesday, July 29, 6 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Library, 210 East 400 South, SLC. A panel will discuss Pope Francis’ “Laudato Si’” in conjunction with the Sustainability Technology Conference. Julie Boerio-Goates will represent the Diocese of Salt Lake City. Free and open to the public.

Annual Marian Procession — Sunday, Aug. 16, beginning at 9 a.m. at the St. Mary Old Town Chapel, 121 Park Ave. in Park City, and ending at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 1505 W. White Pine Canyon Road. During the three-mile walk on paved ground, participants of all ages recite the rosary and sing songs. The procession culminates with a bilingual Mass and a reception afterwards in the parish center. 

Pregnancy Resource Center Gala — Keynote speaker for The Pregnancy Resource Center of Salt Lake City’s annual fundraising gala, “Hope Can Change Everything!” Banquet for Life 2015, will be Sarah Palin, former governor of Alaska and GOP vice presidential nominee. The banquet will be Friday, Oct. 2, at the Grand America Hotel in SLC. “Catholics Can” Mass — Sunday, Oct. 4, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Parish, 4360 West 5415 South, Kearns. All Catholics, young and old, are invited to attend. Prayer for Vocations — A special period of prayer made before the Blessed Sacrament in solemn exposition with a special emphasis for vocations is underway in the Diocese of Salt Lake City. St. Francis Xavier Parish will host the adoration July 13-14 from 4-6 p.m. each night. St. John the Baptist Parish will host July 19-25. Hours will be Sunday, noon-8 p.m.; Monday, 9:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.; Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.; and Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
