St. John the Baptist Catholic Schools Annual Blizzard Ball — Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Grand America Hotel Imperial Ballroom, 555 S. Main Street, Salt Lake City. The silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 7:30 p.m. and a live auction at 8:30 p.m. Music and dancing will follow. Individual tickets are $62.50 and couples $125. Judge Memorial Catholic High School Registration Night — Monday, March 8, in the school cafeteria from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for the incoming Class of 2015. In addition to receiving placement exam reports, registrants will have the opportunity to speak with guidance counselors, faculty and staff, and receive information on academics, service, activities, athletics and financial assistance. Boys Spring basketball camp — March 21-25 for current 5th through 8th grade boys. The Judge Memorial Catholic High School camp will be conducted by the Judge coaching staff along with several of the players from this season’s team. The fee is $40. The deadline for early registration is March 14. All attendees will receive a Judge basketball practice shirt and have the opportunity to compete in basketball contests. ‘The Crucible’ — March 3-5 at 7 p.m. Judge Memorial Catholic High School’s spring drama production will be held in the auditorium, 650 South 1100 East, Salt Lake City. "The Crucible" is a dramatization of the Salem witch trials that took place in Massachusetts during 1692 and 1693. J.E. Cosgriff Mardi Gras Celebration — Saturday, March 5 at 6 p.m. in the St. Ambrose Social Hall, 1975 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City. This festive event will feature a gourmet dinner by Lugano, a live auction, dancing and games. Guests are encouraged to wear costumes. Blessed Sacrament Elementary/Middle School — is now enrolling for 2011-2012 school year for pre-school 3-year-olds, full-day kindergarten to 8th grade. Mardi Gras celebration — Saturday, March 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Saint Olaf McNamara Center, 1850 So. Orchard Drive, Bountiful. This is a pot luck dinner, so bring your favorite "Mardi Gras" dish to share. The cost is $12 per family. There will be face-painting, mask-making, a cake walk, game booths and entertainment for young and old alike. Music will be provided by Ricardos DJ Entertainment. Ministry of Mothers Sharing — Friday-Saturday, March 11-12 at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 725 South 250 East, Hyde Park. The MOMS group will offer a retreat for women Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. beginning with a soup supper, and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon with a continental breakfast. The retreat is open to all women and the cost is $15 per session or $20 for both sessions if paid by March 6. Childcare will be available for a limited number of children. Saint John the Baptist Parish Lenten Mission — Holy Cross Father Patrick Hannon will lead a parish mission March 21-23 at 7 p.m. at Saint John the Baptist Parish, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. He will be celebrant and homilist at the weekend Masses March 19 at 5 p.m. and March 20 at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Fr.
