Parish Dinner and Games — Friday, Aug. 4 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 West 5215 South, Kearns. Dinner: $23; includes 18 games. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., dinner at 5:30 and games start at 6:30.

Parish Garage Sale — Saturday, Aug. 5, 7 a.m. to noon. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2315 E. Redondo Ave., SLC. 

First Saturday Devotion — Saturday, Aug. 5 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 9757 South 1700 East, Sandy. Mass at 9 a.m. followed by the rosary and a potluck breakfast in the parish hall.

First Sunday Filipino Mass — hosted by Misang Bayan Filipino Community will be held Sunday, Aug. 6 at 3:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 670 South 1100 East, SLC. Fr. Ariel Durian will preside.

Parish Game Night — Saturday, Aug. 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish social hall, 1100 East 700 South Salt Lake City. Games, prizes, drinks and snacks.

Rite of Total Consecration — Sunday, Aug. 13 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven, after the 10 a.m. Mass. In recognition of the Aug.14 Feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe, the Militia of the Immaculata will host the Rite of Total Consecration to the Immaculata. A reception will follow. All are welcome. First Sunday Filipino Mass —Sunday, Sept. 3, 3:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 670 South 1100 East, Salt Lake City. Fr.  Rodelio Ignacio will be the celebrant. Hosted by Misang Bayan Filipino Community.

Bishop’s Dinner — to benefit the Cathedral of the Madeleine. Tuesday, Sept. 5 at the Grand America Hotel, 555 Main St., SLC. 6 p.m. social; 7 p.m. dinner. St Martin de Porres Golf Tournament — Friday, Sept. 15 at the Ridge Golf Club, 5055 Westridge Blvd., WVC. 7 a.m. continental breakfast and registration. The Office of Faith Formation — is accepting applications for a new group of men and women who are interested in leadership formation. The Diocesan Lay Ecclesial Ministry Formation Program will be starting a new cohort in August 2023. This program partners with the McGrath Institute for Church Life at the University of Notre Dame and the Congar Institute for Lay Ministry based in San Antonio. Saint Ann’s Bell Choir — is looking for new members. Candidates need not be able to read music, although it is helpful. Choir members are trained to read the music and properly ring the bells.  They practice weekly and perform three to five times per year. The American Red Cross of Utah — blood donation centers are calling on the community to donate as there is a significant shortfall in blood donations this summer. Visit the donation centers at 6616 South 900 East, SLC and 310 North 850 East, Lehi.

Backpack Bonanza — Catholic Community Services is collecting school supplies for children in need through its annual Backpack Bonanza. Donations accepted through  Aug. 4 at 2504 F Ave., Ogden from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays. Suggested donations include money, backpacks, binders, folders, pencil boxes, paper, notebooks, colored pencils, glue sticks, markers, crayons, highlighters, rulers and scissors.
