Mass for the Opening of the Jubilee Year — Sunday, Dec. 29, 11 a.m. in English and 3 p.m. in Spanish at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. The celebration will include a procession, singing of the Jubilee hymn and a special pilgrim cross for veneration.
New Year’s Holiday — The diocesan Pastoral Center will close for New Year’s on Tuesday, Dec. 31. It will reopen on Friday, Jan. 3 at 8:30 a.m.

Holy Day of Obligation — Wednesday, Jan. 1, is the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God. Check your parish for Mass times.

Sacred Heart of Jesus and Healing Mass — Friday, Jan. 3, 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 506 24th St., Ogden. Following Mass, those attending are invited for lunch and a meeting with the Promoters of the League of the Sacred Heart.
Dinner and Games — Friday, Jan. 3 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 West 5215 South, Kearns. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., dinner at 5:30 and games start at 6:30. Dinner $23; includes 18 games. 
First Saturday Devotion — Saturday, Jan. 4, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1700 East 9800 South, Sandy. Beginning with 9 a.m. Mass followed by a rosary, potluck breakfast and discussion. Topic is Apostolic Prayer. All are welcome.

Rosary for Life — to end abortions. Thursday, Jan. 9, 9:30 a.m. at 4387 Harrison, Suite C, on the west side of the shopping complex, as McKay Dee does abortions. Valentine-Making Event —Saturday, Jan. 11, 1-3 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish’s social hall, 1085 East 700 South, SLC. The Catholic Woman’s League invites all women of the diocese to an afternoon of socializing and crafting Valentines for loved ones or to send to members of the armed forces. Supplies and creative help provided at no cost.

Eccles Festival Organ Recital — Sunday, Jan. 20, 8 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Organist: Andrew Vu, assistant director of music of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, D.C. Program will include works by Louis Vierne and Johann Sebastian Bach and will conclude with the entire Symphonie-Passion by Marcel Dupré. Free and open to the public.

Utah March for Life — Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Utah Capitol; rosary 10:30 a.m. at the south steps; program and march, 11 a.m. Hosted by Pro-Life Utah.
Sacred Heart of Jesus Holy Hour — Saturday, Jan. 25, 6-7 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. With prayer materials and a Sacred Heart of Jesus icon from the Knights of Columbus.
Bilingual Rosary for Life — Sunday, Jan. 26, 2 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 275 U St., SLC.
Family Concert “Peter and the Wolf” — Saturday, Feb. 1, 2 p.m. Children will learn about the pipe organ through Sergei Prokofiev’s beloved tale “Peter and the Wolf” in a special arrangement for organ. This performance, part of the Cathedral Family Concert Series, is intended for children ages 3-10 and families.
Eccles Festival Organ Recital — Sunday, Feb. 9, 8 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Organist: Aaron David Miller, director of music at the House of Hope Presbyterian Church, St. Paul, Minn. Program will feature works by Bach, Mozart, one of Miller’s own and improvisations. Free and open to the public.
