A Ceremony of Carols — Friday, Dec. 16 and Thursday, Dec. 22 at 12:15 p.m. The Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine will present Benjamin Britten’s "A Ceremony of Carols," Op. 28. The 22nd annual Concert Season also includes Christmas carol services on Monday, Dec. 19 and Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 24 at 4 p.m.

Interfaith Las Posadas — Friday, Dec. 16 at 5:30 p.m. beginning at Crossroads Urban Center, 347 South 400 East in Salt Lake City, then proceed to First United Methodist Church and St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, ending at 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. A rosary service and fiesta will follow at the cathedral.

The Leonardo and CCS — Through Dec. 18, The Leonardo, 209 East 500 South, SLC, will offer discounted tickets to patrons who present non-perishable food items at the admissions desk. The donations will benefit families at Catholic Community Services’ Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank in Ogden and St. Vincent de Paul Pantry in Salt Lake City. Worldwide Telecast — Saturday Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, 10 p.m. to midnight (Rome time), ‘Midnight Mass’ presided over by Pope Benedict XVI in St. Peter’s Basilica. Also Sunday, Dec. 25, Christmas Day, noon to 12:45 p.m. (Rome time), Christmas Message and Blessing "Urbi et Orbi" ("To the City of Rome and to the World") of Pope Benedict XVI from St. Peter’s Square. Technical details on the broadcasts will be posted on the Pontifical Council for Social Communications’ website (www.pccs.it/tj/telecasts.htm).

Saint Olaf Parish Christmas Mass Schedule — Saturday Dec. 24, at 5:30 p.m., the Children’s Mass will be celebrated, followed by the traditional Filipino Novena Mass at 6:30 p.m. Christmas Night Mass will begin at 10 p.m. with Christmas Carols until 10:30 p.m. at which time Mass will begin. Christmas Day Masses will be at 8:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.

Eastern Rite Christmas Service — Sunday, Dec. 25, Christmas Day, at noon at St. Jude Maronite Catholic Church, 4893 S. Wasatch St., Murray, there will be liturgy of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Eastern Rite.

Old-Time Barn-Dance — Saturday, Feb. 11, will be Saint Vincent’s Annual Auction at St. Vincent de Paul Holy Family Hall, 1375 East Spring Lane, SLC. There will be appetizers, cocktails, dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions. Cost is $65 per person until Dec. 16 and $75 after Dec 17.

Friday Night Dinner and Bingo — at St. Francis Xavier Parish, 4501 West 5215 South in Kearns. Dinner is served at 5:45 p.m. and bingo starts at 6:45 p.m. The cost is $14 for a night of good food and fun entertainment.

Seasonal Masses — 5 p.m. each Sunday at our Lady of Snows Station, the chapel across from Alta Lodge. The service will continue through the ski season.
