SANDY — Betty Anne Aitken died Aug. 1. Aitken was born Oct. 23, to Mike and Mary Long in Salt Lake City. In her early years during the summer, her family would travel with the sheep camps in Montana and Idaho. She learned to shoot, ride, and herd at a young age. She graduated from West High School and married her high school sweetheart John Aitken. They lived in Utah, Arizona, Montana, and California. They returned to Utah to be with her family and friends, and to start a family business in 1976. She and her family traveled the world, but she loved nothing more than being home with her family and cooking. She is survived by her husband, John; sons, John Drake (Patty), Greg (Holly), Mark, and Stuart (Ada), daughter, Heather (Richard), father, Mike Long; sister, Gerri (Paul) Wright; brother, Mike (Vickie) Long; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
