TAYLOR — Betty Jane Thompson Brophy, 82, died April 25, at her home in Taylor. Brophy was born Aug. 31, 1924, to Leonard and Josephine Thompson. She married Phillip Edward Brophy Dec. 30, 1946, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ogden. She lived a full life as a homemaker, wife, and loving mother, working briefly for the Defense Depot, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Bottling Works. Her many tea parties with her grandchildren will always be remembered, along with her homemade bread and rolls. She and her husband were active members of the St. Joseph High School Booster Club. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Phillip; seven daughters and one son, Joanne (Lynn) Adams, Pat (Bob) Ropelato, Kathy (Joseph) LeBlanc, Peggy (Bob) Smith, Phoenix, Ariz., Mary (Tim) Ellis, Phillip Edward (Lori) Brophy, Jr., Frances Hadley, Lynn (Donald) Trotter; 25 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Gerry Brenkman. A Memorial Mass was celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, Ogden.
