Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I share with you the great and joyful news of Easter and the blessings of the glorious resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. As the Sacred Scripture proclaims, “He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay” (Mt 28:6).
Christ rising from the dead fulfilled God’s promise of salvation and new life. He not only conquered the power of darkness and sin but brought newness of life.
The ultimate power of Christ’s victory over death and darkness is accompanied by the boundless hope that Easter brings to our lives and to the world. During the Jubilee Year, this Easter message resonates even more deeply in our hearts. No matter how heavy the burdens we carry and uncertainties we face, the infinite love and compassion of God remains. The hope the Risen Christ brings does not disappoint because he lives with us forever and offers us rest and peace.
As Pope Francis beautifully reminds us in his Bull of Indiction of the Ordinary Jubilee of the Year 2025, “Hope does not disappoint, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us” (Romans 5:5). He also encourages us to “fan the flame of hope that has been given us and help everyone to gain new strength and certainty by looking to the future with an open spirit, a trusting heart, and far-sighted vision.”
Pope Francis further said, “The Church is called to walk together, to be synodal. Christians are called to walk at the side of others, and never as lone travelers.” This is everyone’s mission – to be beacons and bearers of hope to our families, communities and the world, reaching out especially to those in need.
In this Jubilee Year, we are called to be “Pilgrims of Hope,” to walk together in faith and trust in the promises of our Savior. As Easter people, we move beyond the tomb with the conviction to follow Christ with trust in God’s providence and the assurance that his love will never fail us. So, let us courageously proclaim the Good News with joy that out of darkness and suffering comes new life, for Christ is risen, Alleluia!
May the Good Lord bless you abundantly this Easter and throughout the Jubilee Year of Hope.
