Greetings of Christ’s peace and a heartfelt welcome to all our students, administrators, teachers and staff as you start the new school year 2022-2023. I pray that your summer went well and provided a wonderful vacation with family and friends, and I pray for you as you ready yourself to face new challenges and new learning experiences as well as the joy of getting back together with your school community.
Our loving God continues to pour out his blessings upon us. In our schools this year, with most of the pandemic restrictions lifted, we face a friendlier environment. Still, although we have regained more freedom of movement and gathering, we cannot let our guard down. The possibility of infection remains, so we must always be vigilant, mindful of the health and safety of everyone.
Our Catholic schools remain faithful to their commitment to serve our community by providing a quality education, one based on faith and morals, for the holistic development of the child. Its distinctive hallmark is to offer academic excellence grounded in Gospel values and the teachings of Christ in a prayerful and safe environment, not only to inform the minds but also to mold the hearts of the students. Hence, the Holy Eucharist, prayer and charity are the strong pillars of learning and formation.
Thanks to our administrators, faculty and staff for their commitment as partners in our mission of Catholic education. I am likewise grateful to the parents for entrusting the education of their children to us and for their support, especially during the pandemic. Our continued collaboration and cooperation are essential for another fruitful year. As St. Teresa of Calcutta said, “I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot. Together we can do great things.”
Having God with us, we have so much to look forward to. Let us start the new school year with prayer and confidence, that through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Lord’s blessings once again come down upon us.
