Bishop of Salt Lake City
On behalf of my family, the remaining siblings – Fr. Ronald and Anggie, together with her husband Tony, and his two children John Paul and Maria Kristina, I extend our sincere gratitude for the outpouring of your love, expression of sympathy, kind messages, and prayers on the passing away of our sister Celia that provided us with much-needed comfort and strength in time of grief.
Deep faith and trust in God helped Celia endure nine months of suffering brought by her illness. It is the same faith that brought consolation and joy to our family. We held on to what is written in the Scriptures: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18) and to the promise of Jesus: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die” (John 11:25).
We find solace that Celia is now at peace with our Lord and felt blessed to have friends, community, and family like you for being there with us and for honoring her memory with your prayers and kindness.
Thank you and may God who is never outdone in generosity, bless you forever.
