SANDY — The 2nd-grade students at Blessed Sacrament School held their first annual United Nations Day on Nov. 22, coordinated by Jennifer Rodriguez. Students, along with their families, presented the culture, foods and interesting facts of their native countries. The students were able to "visit" Mexico, the United States, Poland, the Philippines, and many more countries. Future plans may include making United Nations Day a schoolwide event. This activity fits with the schoolwide theme for the year, as said by Maya Angelou, "In diversity there is beauty and there is strength." Shown are Tomasz Zola and his two sons, presenting a traditional costume from Poland. Courtesy of Blessed Sacrament School
