Br. Mark Stazinski

HUNTSVILLE — Trappist Brother Mark Stazinski died June 11, 2014 at St. Joseph Villa in Salt Lake City, on his 95th birthday.

Edward J. Stazinski was born June 11, 1919 in Gary, Ind. to Marko and Mary Stazinski. He served in the U.S. Navy for six years during World War II as a member of a torpedo squadron. 

In November 1955, he entered the Abbey of Our Lady of the Holy Trinity in Huntsville. After years of formation, he was assigned to help in the formation of beginners who went to the community. He was also appreciated for his skills as a carpenter. 

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 14 at the Huntsville monastery.
