SALT LAKE CITY — Brigadier General America Paul Bruno, 83, passed away Aug. 16, 2012.

Bruno was born on June 18, 1929 in Verona, Penn. to Angelina (Tirre) and Guytano Bruno. He attended North Carolina State University on a football scholarship, and he met and eloped with Jean (Brown). He made his career in the military, rising steadily through the ranks and retiring as a brigadier general. He was vice commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Center at Hill Air Force Base and his career culminated as commander of the International Logistics Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

Bruno is survived by brother Armand; sons Paul (Michelle) and William (Nina); four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Bruno is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Tony and Bill; sisters Frances, Mary Grace (Crossey) and Millie (Haywood) and his wife.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
