SALT LAKE CITY — Judge Memorial Catholic High School’s soccer team finished the 2009 season with a 15-3 record, losing to Morgan in the UHSAA 3-A semi-finals. Two Bulldogs, senior Kiersten Berg and freshman Kristen Pavlick, were named to the 3-A All-State Tourney Team. This year also marked the return of Head Coach Wayne Voorhes, who had coached the Lady Bulldogs soccer program from 1988 to 2006. In his time at the school, Coach Voorhes’ teams compiled an overall record of 210 wins and 70 losses, and appeared in 19 state tournaments, winning two state championships and three state runner-ups. During his tenure, Judge soccer also won 11 region championships. After his second state championship in 2003, Voorhes was named the Western Region Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
