Pope extends special Year of Mercy provisions on confession

Carolina Mier Puente passed away on October 7, 2016 in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico.

She is survived by her husband, Armando Puente, and her daughters, Marcia and Jasmine Puente. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus Mier and Cayetana Hernandez.

Carolina grew in a family of nine and was the second-youngest of the family.

Growing up on a farm, she learned the value of hard work and determination, traits that she displayed daily, no matter the task. Nothing gave her more joy than spending time with her family and puppies, Tequi and Lena. She filled the lives of those she knew with laughter, joy and wisdom. Our lives are forever enriched because of her and the boundless love she demonstrated to all she met. Her love is like the wind not seen but always felt. “Descansa en paz chaparra, te amamos”.

Funeral services were held Oct. 15 at Saint Olaf Catholic Church.
