SALT LAKE CITY — David Moses Howa, 76, passed away from kidney cancer Nov. 1, 2011.

Howa was born March 22, 1935 in Salt Lake City to Nami and Alice Howa. He attended Judge Memorial Catholic High School, graduating in 1954. He was very devoted to the Catholic Church as a member of the Dominican laity.

Howa is survived by daughter Monica, sons Chris, Jay and Lanny, five nieces and two grandchildren.

Howa is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Holy Cross Sister Alice Michelle (Genny) Howa and Nancy Martinez, and brother Ray Howa.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Catherine of Siena/Catholic Newman Center.
