Seven Dominican novices, five from the Western Province and two from the Vietnamese Vicariate, visited Utah the weekend of June 26 accompanied by their Novice Master, Fr. Anthony Rosevear, OP. They are shown with Fr. Cody Jorgensen, OP, director of campus ministry at St. Catherine of Siena Newman Center in Salt Lake City; and Fr. Francis-Hung Le, the superior of the local Dominican community. In addition to seeing the Dominican-run ministry of St. Catherine’s, the novices toured Park City, the Cathedral of the Madeleine, and other sites in the state. These seven men are in their first year of formation, when it is customary for the novices to visit the various Dominican ministries across Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Alaska. This year’s novices are scheduled to make their first profession of vows on Sept. 4 in California.
