SALT LAKE CITY — Eileen Friel O’Hara, 87, passed away Feb. 16, 2012.

O’Hara was born March 21, 1924 in Detroit, Mich. to James D. and Imelda Jackson Friel. She married Edward R. O’Hara in 1945.

She was a devout Catholic, her faith was leavened by her Irish wit and took pride in managing a pro-life clinic.

O’Hara was preceded in death by sons Patrick and Edward; parents; sister Rita Bailey and brother James Friel.

O’Hara is survived by her children, Kate Lahey (Michael); Maureen O’Hara Ure (Lincoln); Michael O’Hara (Mary Cortese); James O’Hara (Robin); and Colleen O’Hara; sisters, Jeanne LaHood, Patricia Ryan, and Betty Van Tiem; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Catherine of Siena/Newman Center.
