Elaine Riley Dern

SALT LAKE CITY — Elaine Riley Dern, 87, passed away on Jan. 9, 2015. 

Dern was born in Magna, May 23, 1927, to Mary Nicolo and Martin Riley. She married Floyd Dern Jr. on Sept. 23, 1950. He passed away Jan. 13, 1981. She was active in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Magna, involved in the Ladies Altar Society and the bowling league. 

Dern is survived by sons, Deveraux R. Dern (Melanie), Kevyn L. Dern (Sara) and Kary I. Dern (Tammy); six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Verlene Del Porto; sister-in-law, Valerie Del Porto and including many nephews, nieces and cousins. 

Dern was preceeded in death by husband, Buzz, parents, and her brother, Delbert Del Porto.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
