Ernest G. Lopez

April 29, 1932 ~ December 1, 2021

Our beloved friend, Ernest G. Lopez, 89, passed away December 1, 2021, at Good Life Senior Living in Price.

He was born April 29, 1932, in Monte Vista, Colorado to Joe D. and Regina Lopez. He married Mabel Duran; they later divorced. On October 16, 1978, Ernie married the love of his life, Rene Majors, in Elko, Nevada. They renewed their vows in the Mission San Rafael Church. She died August 29, 2006.

Ernie was a longtime resident of Huntington and East Carbon, where he was blessed with many friends. He was a longtime member of the Mission San Rafael in Huntington and presently a parishioner at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in East Carbon. Ernie was a tireless worker who loved to work with his hands.  He was a proud and distinguished member of the United Mine Workers of America, Local #22.   

Survived by his brother Johnnie (Mary) Lopez, Salt Lake; sister Betty Archuleta, Salt Lake; his children Patsy Lopez, Salt Lake; Linda Lopez, Heber; Andrew Lopez, Tennessee; and a community of friends.

Ernie was preceded in death by parents; wife, Rene; three sons, Ernie, David and Dennis Lopez; sister, Mary; and three brothers, Toby, Max and Richard.

A funeral Mass was celebrated December 8, 2021, at Mission San Rafael Catholic Church in Huntington.  Committal, Huntington City Cemetery.
