SALT LAKE CITY - Each Christmas break the student travel company, Passports, hosts an International Teacher Convention at various locations around the world. Past Yuletide celebrations have been held in France, Italy, Spain, Costa Rica and England.
This year, two Judge faculty members have been invited to participate in this outstanding educational program. Art Holder, German teacher and World Languages department chair and a member of the Judge faculty since 1994, and Tim Soran, Latin teacher and a member of the Judge faculty since 1998, will spend five days in Berlin as guests of Passports in late December. This will be a fantastic opportunity for these Judge Memorial educators to collaborate with other language program professionals from around the world. Over 200 educators and Passport Travel staff will be in attendance at the annual Teacher-Counselor Convention.
Whether it is networking with other educators at daily seminars and presentations, shopping in one of Berlin's famous Christkindlmarkets, or visiting the major landmarks of this timeless city; these two faculty members will bring home a wealth of information and experiences to share with their students. Special excursion opportunities include visits to the remains of the Berlin Wall, the Brandenburg Gate, the imposing Soviet War Memorial, Kurfurstendamm and a visit to Potsdam to tour the summer residence of Frederick the Great, Sans Souci.
Passports provides educational travel tours for high school and college students, their teachers and professors and adults. Travel trips are scheduled year-round to places such as Europe, Scandinavia, Africa, the Caribbean, Asia and Australia.
These trips provide students and faculty a unique opportunity for hands-on learning, bringing their studies to life.
