Utah First Lady Mary Kay Huntsman meets with Seventh-grader Dion Granger and other students from the Madeleine Choir School as they prepare to travel throughout Italy beginning Nov. 3. Huntsman told the students the state is very pleased to have such gifted ambassadors representing Utah in Italy. Eighty Choir School students met with the First Lady at the Governor’s Mansion Oct. 4. The choristers have been honored with a rare invitation to sing a Sunday Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. They also will present concerts at the Chiesa de Gesu in Rome, the Basilica di San Francesco in Assisi, Chiesa di Santo Stefano in Florence, and Duomo in Milan. Mrs. Huntsman entertained the students with stories about how she learned to be the wife of an ambassador, and how she managed to communicate with people in Singapore, where Gov. Jon M. Huntsman Jr. served as a U.S. ambassador.
