Frances Barber Chiodo

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Frances Barber Chiodo, 91, died Dec. 25, in Las Vegas, Nev. She was a longtime member of St. Patrick Parish.

Chiodo was born March 25, 1915, in Salt Lake City to Dominic and Jennie Madaline Barber. She married the love of her life, Joseph Chiodo, July 11, 1934. He preceded her in death in 1972. She spent her life in Salt Lake City until moving to Las Vegas in 2003 with her son Robert. She worked for Duracraft Rubber Corp., from 1955 until she retired in 1977. She loved having a large extended family, and the close contact she had with her seven sisters, and six brothers. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Wendover. and loved the closeness of the casinos in Las Vegas, although she never spent more than her limit of $20.

She is survived by her two sons, Joseph (Diane) Chiodo, and Robert Chiodo; grandsons, Mike (Amy) Chiodo, Rob Chiodo, and David Chiodo; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Florence Oliver and Elaine Kitterer; brothers, Bob Barber, Willie Barber, John Barber, and Nick Barber; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Interment was in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
