Franklin O. Mjaatvedt

OGDEN — Franklin O. Mjaatvedt, 91, died March 16, at the McKay-Dee Hospital. He was a member of St. James Parish.

Mjaatvedt was born May 20, 1916, in Bergan, Norway, to Henrick and Petra Pedersen Mjaatvedt. He married Lin Cobb Oct. 14, 1949, in Brigham City. They were married 24 years. He lived in Ogden most of his life, and graduated from Ogden High School. He attended Weber State College. He was a photographer, and owned and operated Little Norway Studio for 30 years. He served in the Royal Norwegian Air Force and the U.S. 10th Mountain Division, during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star.

He is survived by his son, Corey (Anne) Mjaatvedt, Charleston, S.C.; daughter, Christene (John) Jensen, Ogden; Lin Mjaatvedt; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Sidney Cates.

A Memorial Mass was celebrated at St. James Catholic Church.
