July 25, 1946 ~ July 8, 2021
Georgina “Gigi” Mary Lloyd Trentman died peacefully at home in Murray, Utah surrounded by family on July 8, 2021.
Gigi was born on July 25, 1946 to Georgina and John Henry Lloyd Jr. in South Bend, Ind. the youngest of three children. She attended parochial elementary and high schools in South Bend, and soon after graduating met the love of her life. On November 27, 1965, Gigi married Richard “Ric” B. Trentman Jr. in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in South Bend. Upon Ric’s graduation from University of Notre Dame in 1966, the couple moved to Texas and later settled in Murray, Utah in 1972. In later years, Ric would endearingly refer to Gigi as the Blonde Beast of the West (BBTW).
In Utah, Gigi became a fixture in the St. Vincent de Paul and Judge Memorial Catholic High School communities. She dedicated much of her time to leading and volunteering at school activities, and especially devoted energy to the St. Vincent de Paul Parish, through which Gigi founded the Progressive Bridge Program. Gigi also demonstrated her passion for the parish through her deep faith and devotion to the Church. Apart from these communities, for a number of years in the 1980s, Gigi was the president of the Murray Bonnet Ball League.
Gigi’s commitment and love for family was her mission and our greatest gift. Gigi has five living children, Ric (Ann); Gina (Lee); Rene (Erik); Bill (Erika); and Jason (Jen). Her daughter Cecilia “Cece” Ann died in 1986 at the age of 15. Gigi was especially happy that all her children have enduring marriages ranging from 19 to 31 years that have resulted in 12 grandchildren: Megan, Maddy, Devan, Hannah, Gilli, Annie, Cooper, Tatum, Oliver, Erik Jr., Will, and Elliot. They were all recipients of Gigi’s devotion and love.
Gigi was a breast cancer survivor of more than 40 years. Her generosity, support, love and compassion never wavered. She was fiercely strong and beloved by many. Gigi is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John H. Lloyd III and William Lloyd.
