Gilbert H. Archuleta Sr. 74, a resident of Servilleta, New Mexico, passed away in the early morning hours of August 20, 2019. He was born on September 30, 1944 to Leo Archuleta and Ruth Manzanarez Archuleta in Monte Vista, Colorado.
In 1958 he moved to Utah, where he married Mary Giron Archuleta. He worked for many years as a diesel mechanic through Semi Services in Salt Lake City. He moved to New Mexico, where he worked for Los Alamos School District for 10 years until he retired.
He enjoyed his property and watering his yard and enjoyed hanging out with his favorite cousins, Adelmo and Sefer Archuleta, and his favorite nieces, Veronica and Anthony Garcia and Josette and Jon Trevino.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother George L. Archuleta, sister Gloria Alvardo, son Anthony Archuleta, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe A. and Giron Dulcinella. He is survived by his loving wife and three children: Laurie and Anthony Tafoya, Leona and Matthew, and Gilbert Jr. and Nadine; 10 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; many extended family members and friends.
There will a celebration of his life with a Mass at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 1040 West 400 South, Salt Lake City on October 5, 2019 at 11 a.m. Following the celebration, burial will be at Taylorsville Cemetery.
