OGDEN — Saint Joseph continued its winning ways on the cross country front this year, winning a third straight girls state title. The boys team also fared well, coming in second in the Class 1A meet.

Junior Alex Shaw led the girls’ effort. With a time of 19 minutes, 37 seconds, she took the Class 1A girls’ cross country state title. Teammate Andrea Chavez placed third with a time of 20:36.6.

Overall, the team earned 26 points, well ahead of second-place Wayne, with 75 points, and Monticello, with 77 points.

On the boys’ side, Saint Joseph’s Rob Puskedra placed second overall with a time of 17:31.2 and Daniel Philpot was third with 17:34.5, both behind Dalaki Livingston of Milford, who took first with a time of 17:14.4.

Piute won the boys team title with 47 points, followed by St. Joseph with 79 points and Monticello with 104 points.
