SALT LAKE CITY — Harry Edwin Mingo, 79, died May 5. Mingo was born Feb. 24, 1928, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Arthur and Bertha O’Halloran Mingo. After graduating from Twin Falls High School, he served two years in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1949. He graduated from Utah State University in 1952, with a B.S. degree in Industrial Arts Education. In 1967, he earned a Master’s degree at the University of Utah in Educational Administration. He married Imogene Isabel Griffin Nov. 28, 1953. He was employed at Kennecott Copper Corp. until 1962, when he started his 30-year teaching career at West High School in Salt Lake City. He taught electronics and mathematics. He enjoyed 17 years of retirement with his family. He was a kind, gracious, and generous soul, especially with his time helping others. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Imogene; six children, Mary Mingo, Harry R. (Marti) Mingo, Anne (Doug) Chesely, Richard (Karen) Mingo, Camille (Reyes) Aguilar, Anita (Scott) Lusty; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Irma Jean) Mingo and Don Mingo; and one sister, Kathleen Kramer. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
