SALT LAKE CITY – This week the Intermountain Catholic has a new website! We’re excited about our new website (www.icatholic.org) for a couple of reasons. First, it looks nice. Our old website was, well, old. Our new website has a fresh look designed by Roger Kerr and the crew at The Fat Couch to make us look more modern. Also, it’s similar in appearance to the Diocese of Salt Lake City’s website (www.dioslc.org.) Because the Intermountain Catholic is the newspaper for the diocese, we felt it was important to have our websites appear as similar as possible. You’ll notice the same color scheme and page arrangement both sites. Another reason we’re excited about the new Intermountain Catholic website is that it’s much more functional. The archives are searchable by keyword and our advertisers will be able to place their ads on each page. Currently we have the last 12 issues archived but each week we will add more from the past as well as putting up the current issue. We’ve tried to make the new website easy to navigate, with tabs like ‘From the Bishop’ and ‘School News’ that will take you directly to the news you’re interested in. Several new features have been introduced with this website. Obituaries can now be found online. We are working with the funeral homes to post service times as soon as they’re available, and the neighborly chatter in the Parlez du Café column now also is online. Another new feature is our ‘Upcoming Issue,’ in which you’ll be able to see what stories our staff is working on. Of course, we’ve retained most of the features from the previous website. Our Catholic business directory is still available, which lists our advertisers according to category. You’ll be able to subscribe on line to the Intermountain Catholic, link to the websites for the diocese, Utah Catholic Schools and Catholic Business Network, and read all about the news of fellow Catholics throughout Utah.
