OGDEN — Irene Francis Mastronardi, 90, died May 20, due to age related causes. She was a member of Saint James Parish. Mastronardi was born Feb. 20, 1918, to Biagio and Merceda P. Panunzio. She grew up on the family farm in Riverdale. She married Tony Mastronardi Nov. 19, 1938. They had been married 51 years, when he died Nov. 10, 1989. Mastronardi’s life was spent working side-by-side with her husband, his brothers, and LaVell, a sister-in-law, who is now deceased. She also worked at Ben Lomond Lanes nursery for 42 years. She was a fabulous cook, and her kitchen was always open to everyone. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She adored her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Don) Nelson, and JoAnn (Elmer) LaRose, both of Ogden; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Shanze (Eva) Panunzio; son-in-law, Bob (Cathy) Nelson; daughter-in-law Flora; and Kirk (Barbara) Turley. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Saint James Catholic Church. Interment was in Washington Heights Memorial Park.
