BOUNTIFUL — Phyllis Jean Carr Jeanell Hoffman, 72, died in her sleep at home on March 6, 2011.

Hoffman was born on Dec. 12, 1938, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Albert and Esther Carr. At 1 day old Jeanell was adopted by Louis and Lucille Goeckner. She always knew she was adopted and was the 13th biological child of the Carr family. She graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1957, and married Art Hoffman the same year at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Twin Falls. When she was 45 years old she found her family. In 1983 there was a reunion with her seven brothers and three sisters who were still alive. She found the greatest joy in life when she was with her family. She deeply loved her husband of 52 years and her six children. She adored her grandchildren and was anxiously awaiting the birth of her first great-grandchild.

She was very proud of the cheerleaders she organized. She had about 50 little girls in full uniform cheering for the boys in Little League football. Her chosen vocation in the Catholic Church was to be married and work with couples to improve their marriage. She and her husband were a presenting team in Marriage Encounter and Retrovaille.

Hoffman is survived by her husband, Art; children Randy (Joni), Kim, Lonny, Scott (Lucinda), Greg, Michael (Amanda); 13 grandchildren; siblings Peggy Denny, Marilyn Warren and Mary Carr.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Olaf Catholic Church.
