SALT LAKE CITY — Jeanne Katherine Truxal, 53, died Dec. 28.

Truxal was born Oct. 14, 1954, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Dr. Albert Carter and Mary Lou Coan Truxal. She received two Bachelor of Science Degrees in health science and medical technology from Boise State University in 1977. She married Robert Dale Andrews in 1979, whom she met while working at the University of Utah Medical Center. She went from working as a medical technologist to several positions specializing in laboratory information systems. She was employed at the Huntsman Cancer Institute as Director of Communications. In 2002, she was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and continued working full time until near her death. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, outdoor family vacations, and cooking.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Scott Thomas and John David; mother; four sisters, Joan Truxal, Barbara Tomasini, Patricia Olsen, Boise, Idaho, Linda Truxal, Golden, Colo., three brothers, Bert, Reno, Nev., Paul, Elko, Nev., and Bruce, Bellevue, Idaho.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Interment was in the cemetery in Rexburg, Idaho.
