SALT LAKE CITY — John J. Drose, 82, passed away Dec. 6 after a courageous fight against cancer. Drose was born March 15, 1929 to Joseph and Johanna Drose of Binghamton, N.Y. Drose served his country as a parachutist/infantry commander in the U.S. armed forces and was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Drose is survived by his three children: Marce A. (Wally) Miles, Mike J. (Nelly) Drose and Richard A. Drose; and four grandchildren. Drose was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
