SPRING GLEN — John Marasco, age 90, died Jan. 27, 2011. He was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Parish in Helper. Marasco was born Jan. 12, 1921, in Spring Glen, Utah to Ross and Rosa Pinarelli Marasco. He married Emma Marie Passarella Oct. 11, 1940; she died Oct. 17, 1982. He married Joy H. Milano Sept. 29, 2000, in Price. Marasco was a lifelong resident of Carbon County. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post 2379 and a retired member of the U.M.W.A. Castle Gate Local 8622, with 50 years of dedicated service in the coal industry. He also was a member of the Price Elks Lodge 1550. He is survived by his wife, Joy Marasco, Spring Glen; son, Richard J. (Darlene) Marasco, Woodenville, Washington; daughter, Janice (Jerry) Shaff, Elko, Nev.; three step-children John and Dan Milano, Linda Olsen and their spouses; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Anthony Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the Price City Cemetery.
